技术特色：实验室可承担各类健康相关产品、化学品的各项毒理学检测和毒性鉴定，可开展增强免疫力、辅助降血脂(动物实验、人体试食)、辅助降血糖(动物实验、人体试食)、辅助改善记忆(动物实验、人体试食)、抗氧化(动物实验、人体试食)、促进排铅(动物实验、人体试食)、改善睡眠、缓解体力疲劳、提高缺氧耐受力、减肥(动物实验、人体试食)、改善生长发育(动物实验、人体试食)、改善营养性贫血(动物实验、人体试食)、对化学性肝损伤有辅助保护功能、促进消化功能(动物实验、人体试食)、通便(动物实验、人体试食)、保护胃黏膜(动物实验、人体试食)、抗辐射、清咽(动物实验、人体试食)等多项保健功能检测，可进行近交系大小鼠的生化位点检测。

近几年，完成了《护肝天然植物保健食品的研制及其对抗肝损伤和肝纤维化的研究》、《国产氧化型染发剂的毒性研究》、《市售槟榔的毒性研究》、《新型食品添加剂-辐射聚合SP系列产品研究》等科研项目，曾获省卫生厅医药卫生科技进步二等奖3项、省科技进步三等奖2项、省轻工业厅科技进步一等奖1项，迄今全科人员在国内专业性刊物上发表论文60余篇。

Main task：Functional tests and assessments on health foods in line with national guidelines；Quality control of laboratory animals in genetic and pathological aspects；Provide consultation as to the validity of the formula of health foods to health-food manufacturers；Toxicological assessments on safety of foods，cosmetics，disinfectants，insecticides and other health-related products in accordance with corresponding national standards or guidelines；Toxicity identification of other chemicals。

Toxicological tests regularly performed：Acute toxicity test (oral/inhalation/dermal)、Ames test、Bone marrow cell micronucleus test、Mice sperm abnormality test、Thirty and ninety days feeding study、Dermal irritation test、Acute eye irritation test、Skin sensitization test and so on。

Functional Tests regularly performed：Enhancing immune function、Weight control function、Assisting blood lipids reduction function、Assisting blood sugar reduction function、Antioxidative function、Alleviating physical fatigue function、Improving child growth function、Facilitating feces excretion function、Sleep improvement function、Assisting memory improvement function、Accelerating lead excretion function、Improving nutritional anemia function、Assisting the protection against chemical injury of liver function、Enhancing anoxia endurance function and so on。

In addition，discipline-related studies were carried out。In recent years，we accomplished the toxicity studies of national oxidation hair dyes and commercial areca-nuts，both of which were honored with second-rate prize in Medicinal Health Science-Technology Advancing from Hunan Health Bureau and third-rate prize from Hunan Province Science Committee。More than sixty papers were published in national journals。
